Mind Your Music and Coronavirus
In 2020, we had to change the way we met, made music, performed, and stayed in touch and supportive as a group. For most of the year, we had to move everything online. During the summer months, when restrictions were eased, we met outdoors and played music together - socially distanced, of course - in Bristol's parks. Since then we have been wholly online.
For as long as physical meetings remain difficult because of the coronavirus emergency in 2021, Mind Your Music will continue to run a programme of online activities, workshops, rehearsals and productions serviced by our WhatsApp group and Zoom meetings. To know more about these activities, please contact Sarah or Elliot Hall on 079361 82638.
'You Always Were More Than Enough' - New Poetry and art Anthology now on Sale.
A new poetry anthology from members of Mind Your Music and Stepping Out Theatre was launched at an online event on 18 Dec 2020 with readings from the poets involved. Beautifully illustrated with original artworks by members of both groups, this anthology is now available to order online for a suggested donation of £10. To order your copy, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Watch this space! There have been rumours of a Mind Your Music 'Stars in Their Eyes', or even a musical, as well as a showcase for all the original talent emerging from our members. Our next show is likely to be wholly online.
Music for mental wellbeing
Formed in 2003 by singer-songwriter Elliot Hall, Mind Your Music is a friendly, supportive group who meet to make, create, and perform music together, in a safe, inclusive, non-judgemental environment. In normal times, we meet at Factory Studios in Barton Hill. Currently, we have moved everything wholly online. To take part in a session or find out more, call Sarah or Elliot Hall on 079361 82638 or email: email@example.com
During restrictions, we are 'meeting' via Zoom, every Monday afternoon for themed musical sessions involving online karaoke, musical discussion and quizzes, open mics and occasional even dressing up. We have set up a Whatsapp group so that people have the opportunity to reach out if they want to, or just to feel that there are other people out there. We have had an online christmas party, and our poetry book launch (see latest news)
